Draw a Structure and Search for Absolute Stereochemistry |

In this example we want
to retrieve N-substituted amphetamines with absolute stereochemistry. |
|
|
|
|
|
1.
Doubleclick the structure area of the CrossFire
Commander to open the CrossFire Structure Editor. |
|
|
2.
Click
the Benzene ring tool. |
|
|
3.
Click
the Edit tool. |
|
|
4.
Click
a carbon on the benzene ring and drag to draw a bond. Release the mouse, then click and drag
again to draw successive bonds. |
|

5.
Click
and drag to add the bond that will become the stereo bond. 6.
Click
the middle of this bond. The Bond Attributes box appears. |

|
7.
Select
Up from the Bond Attributes box. Click
OK. 8.
Click
the carbon atom that will become a Nitrogen. Type N
in the Atom Attributes box
under Symbol. Click OK. |

9.
Click
the To Commander button. |
|
|
10. Under Free Sites, select Hetero Atoms to allow substitution on
the N. |
|
|
11. Under Stereo select Absolute. |
|
|
12. Click the Start Search button. |
